Rosalyn "Diane" Sumpter Walton was a lifelong resident of Manatee County. She was devoted to the spiritual well being of families. In addition to her work and leadership in her local church, Mrs. Walton counseled homeless and incarcerated women. Inspired by her passion for the arts, Mrs. Walton founded The Eastside Poetry Club. Through the poetry club, Mrs. Walton sought to foster the creative expression in young people.
